About Me

I  graduated from Rowan University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. In addition to the Biological Sciences Core Curriculum, I completed upper level coursework that focused on a number of different areas: wildlife ecology, wildlife conservation, and wildlife management. My personal research interests include climate change and its impact upon reptiles, amphibians, and fishes and how to conserve land while increasing agricultural yield. I also have experience working with ArcGIS, as I have completed two GIS courses.

I was also a member of the executive board for the Rowan Environmental Action League (REAL). My position on the executive board was as a Senator to represent REAL to Rowan’s Student Government Association (SGA). As a member of the executive board, my role was to collaborate with my fellow executive board members to plan out REAL’s biweekly meetings and to coordinate education, outreach, and awareness activities on Rowan’s campus. We also worked with and met with Rowan’s adminstration to discuss initiatives that can be taken to increase sustainability on campus and to make Rowan more eco-friendly.

Concomitant with my personal mission to impact the local community with educational outreaches, I completed an internship with the New Logic Marine Science Camps of New Jersey in Summer 2016, where I worked as part of a team to teach a new group of children each week about Marine Science and Marine Conservation. I also taught my own lesson each week about how oxybenzone, which is a popular chemical component of many sunscreens, is contributing to the destruction of our coral reefs.

My hobbies include being outdoors and looking for different animal species, reading, skiing, playing drums and guitar, and increasing awareness of science and scientific literacy. I also love to educate others on ways that they can reduce their environmental impact.
